Troop 55 Wilderness Camping March 2006

Maple

March brings warming weather and this year was no different. During the day, the roads were very wet and soft, but by night were very hard.

Rumor has it that Carols' Mini may have been lost in one of the ruts.

Roger brought the trailer up, but became stuck in the wet mud. Here is the aftermath.

Sled1 After unpacking, it was time to get the fire started. With the ground wet, the fire wasn't eay to start, but after a while we had a roaring blaze.
Lunch for the adults was brats, beans and sauerkraut cooked over an open fire. Dan and Sam
Sledrace The Scout Camp Pool was sandblasted last fall, but they were not able to get the sand picked up before winter. We spent part of the afternoon sweeping and shoveling the sand into pile to make it easier to pick up later this spring. It's amazing how much sand they used!
