August 2010 Pack 55/Troop 55 Picnic
Each August, Pack 55 has their fitness testing. Troop 55 helps with this event. It is then followed by and enormous feast/picnic.
As always, there was lots, and lots of really good food. For those who liked chocolate, you were not disappointed. |
Ben watches as a cub gives the softball throw his best effort. |
Dan and Ben observe another great toss. |
Mark counts the pushups. |
Apparently, they were going so fast, Mark needed help. . . |
Situps were done at another station. |
Those who were done, tried to make themselves as dizzy as possible by going really fast on the merry-go-round. |
There was a tie, and an extra 50 yard dash was the tie-breaker. |
Still a close race |
Beat him just at the wire. |
Jan (our grillmaster extraordinaire), gives some other parents pointers on hotdog grilling. |
Who can resist a perfectly grilled hotdog? |
40 done, only 200 to go . . . |
The Pack/Troop picnic is always a lot of fun. It gives the cubs a chance to see what the older boys get to do
and a chance to see what is ahead of them. For the Troop, it keeps the older boys in touch with those
who will join them in the troop in a few years. |
