Red Flannel 2014 | |
Our 2014 Red Flannel campout was held at Camp Ingawanis Ranger camp. We had beautiful weather. Stayed between 10 and 20 degrees. The scouts had time to sled and build Quinzees.
When we arrived, the scouts started to pile up snow for a quinzee. |
Others slept in tents. Some slept in the Adirondacks.
Almost wnough snow. |
Lunch time. The adults cooked thier own food and the 2 patrols cooked their own meals.
Some adults sitting in the adirondacks waiting for lunch. |
The "Hill of Death". A really fun hill to sled..
just pretty scenery. |
Scenes for the "Hill of Death". Some really great rides and some spectacular wipeouts.
It's beat up, but a really interesting hornet nest. |
We then mopved to a different hill to sled.
Starting to dig out a Quinzee. The start is the most difficult part. Once the inside is dug out enough to sit up, it goes much faster. |
Making progress | |
Andrew and Parker inside their finished Quinzee! Good job! Calvin also helped a lot. Parker and Calvin slept in this one. |
It's Troop 55. how often do we have a campout without a fire? |
