SeaBase 2023

We had 24 adults and scouts attend SeaBase in 2023. They had an amazing trip.

THANK YOU SO MUCH to the group that helped pal the trip! There is a reason why we had a group involved in putting this trip together. There were SO many pieces to make this work. Photos to come.

And they are off!

24 left for Chicago and O’Hare on Friday night. Flew to Miami and drove to Camp Sawyer for the night.

Drove to SeaBase today and their adventure is on!

They should have an amazing trip! Looking forward to hearing stories.

SeaBase 2023

We are about 3 weeks away from leaving for SeaBase. We have all 24 spots filled, airline tickets purchased as a group and vans reserved.

Tonight, 17 of the 24 completed their “Blue Swimmer” test. Awesome job! They also practiced with their masks and snorkels. We were able to get a great deal from our local scuba shop. Thanks!

The other 7 are working on times to get that done.

They have their “uniform” shirts and hats purchased! Awesome job Liz! They just might stick out in a crowd. Photo of everyone in their shirts and hats to come. It will be EPIC!

SeaBase 2023

SeaBase is coming up quickly. Under 6 weeks to go. The crews are ready. They have finished training sessions and have their packing lists. Looking forward to warm weather.

SeaBase 2023

The planning is coming together. We have 23 of 24 spots filled and expect to have the last spot filled soon. We were able to find semi reasonable group airline tickets. Working on bus transportation and where to stay for the 1st night, but have several good options. While putting together a group of 24 persons may seem like a big task, we have a great committee working on it and it all seems to be coming together. More details soon.

SeaBase 2023

We went through the “lottery” which was a first come, not a true lottery. We missed out on our first choice, but were able to get 3 Coral Reef ships. We were concerned as we were planning to do this over our Spring Break, but the dates for our Spring Break had not been released by the time we needed to reserve. we just found out today that we picked correctly!

We have room for 24 persons. Currently, we have 19 of the 24 spots filled and are working to fill the remainder.

We have a group to work on the logistics of the trip.

It’s going to be amazing!

High Adventures in the next year:

We have a lot of fun activities coming up for our Troop.

June 2022 Philmont. We have 9 confirmed so far. May have another 2. We have reached out to 2 other Troops to see if they have any interest to help fill out our crew.

OKPIK 2023. We had 8 who could not attend this year due to Co-Vid. We talked about it, and they are interested in going back next year. We have 9 going back for a Lake Stay. We need 2 more to fill a “Large Crew”.

Sea Base 2023. We were not able to get the “Tall Ship”. But we got 3 Coral Reef instead. We have 21 of 24 spots already filled. I don’t think it will take much longer to fill the remaining spots.

We just created a sub committee for Sea Base to work on the logistics of the trip. More hands make easier work.
